Summer Breeze Watermelon Mint Smoothie

Summer Breeze Watermelon Mint Smoothie

At just 98 calories, this is the lightest smoothie in the lineup, but it delivers maximum refreshment. Frozen watermelon turns into a shaved-ice consistency, coconut water adds electrolytes, and fresh mint makes every sip taste like a poolside afternoon. Top with a fresh mint sprig or a small watermelon wedge.

Recipe

- 1½ cups frozen watermelon

- ½ cup coconut water (unsweetened)

- 3–4 fresh mint leaves

- Squeeze of lime (optional)

Tips

1. Freeze seedless watermelon cubes on a parchment-lined baking sheet for at least 4 hours before blending.

2. Add coconut water to the blender first so the frozen watermelon has something to catch on.

3. Use fresh mint only. Dried mint won't give you that bright, cooling flavor. Slap the leaves between your palms before adding to release their oils.

4. Start with a small squeeze of lime (about 1 teaspoon) and adjust to taste.

5. Pulse 5–6 times, then blend on low for 10–15 seconds. Over-blending warms the mixture and makes it thinner.

6. Drink immediately. This smoothie separates faster than thicker blends.

Nutrition Notes

Watermelon consists of over 90% water and contains lycopene, an antioxidant linked to heart health, plus citrulline, an amino acid that may improve exercise recovery.

Coconut water provides about 250–300 mg of potassium per ½ cup, making it excellent for rehydration after exercise.

Fresh mint contains menthol and rosmarinic acid, which may help soothe digestive discomfort.

Lime adds about 1–2 calories per squeeze while providing vitamin C that enhances antioxidant absorption.
